Kyoto is home to the Kinkajui Pavilion.  It is nicknamed the Golden Pavilion because it is literally covered in gold.  It was quite a sight to behold.

Later that afternoon we went to the Nijo Castle.  It was the home of Shogun and it is very large, about 40,000 square feet.  They wouldn't let us take pictures inside, but I got a few of the outside.
