My friend Hong Nan and I went to the beach yesterday with her son Masa Hiro.  She is from China, but has been living in Japan for the past 6 years with her husband, Wenji.  He works here at the factory with Scott and she helps me with Japanese.  She speaks a little Engish and has been very kind to be a translator for me!

The beach is only about a 15 minute walk from our apartment!  We gathered clams a few days ago and made clam chowder!
